Jazz Clubs in Beijing

here a list of some of the place where you can listen Jazz music in Beijing. I hope the list will be bigger and bigger.

If some of you still don't know Scotty Wright you'd better go to the Centro Bar at the Kerry Centre Hotel (1 Guang Hua Road) to check it out. Scotty (vocalist, pianist and composer) will leave China very soon (around 8 of Dicember), then you will have no more chances to listen what singing jazz means. Don't lose this good opportunity.
如果还不知道Scotty Wright是谁，应该去炫酷酒吧在嘉里中心饭店大堂（光华路1号）看看，因为他快要离开中国（12月8号左右）。如果大家还不知道唱爵士音乐是什么意思你就不能不去听他的演出。不要错过这个难得的机会。

Live Jazz bands from thursday to sunday from 22:00 to late night.
On top of the live jazz, the bar boasts the best views of Houhai, either through the floor-to-ceiling windows (complete with telescope) in the bar or from the small, sparsely furnished rooftop.

This bar was set up by Sax player Liu Yuan, who use to tour with Cui Jian's band. Previously a hot spot for all kinds of live music, it is now totally dedicated to the jazz crowd, cultivating an intimate atmosphere with its small stage and hushed crowds quietly foot-tapping to the house jazz band.

I think it's also very helpful to have the schedule of who is playing at each club (could someone do this for cd jazz and other venues)..

Saturday - Liu Yuanr's Jazz Band (Sax - Liu Yuan, Piano - TBA, Bass -Huang Yong, Drums - Izumi Koga)
Sunday - Quattrology - (Piano - Moreno Donadel, Bass - Da Zhong, Drums - Beibei, Vocal - Jess Meider)


I also suggest that the more musicians that come to jam the better, that way we can work together to improve our jazz skills, share in this great music and express ourselves in a creative way...
